First Quarter Ministry Reports 2026
Touching Lives for Christ (TLC)
Senior Adult Ministry
Our Senior Adult Ministry has started back up again and is doing incredibly well. Touching Lives for Christ is our Senior Adult Ministry, a ministry at FBCKC that is for any adult 50 years old or older. Pastor Chris Goodmen and his wife Sonya are leading this ministry, with additional help with decorating, activity planning, etc. We meet on the 3rd Monday of each month, excluding the summer months from June to August. We begin the TLC events at 6 pm and end around 8 pm.
Fellowship, food, and fun at each event as we touch lives for Christ. At our first event in January, Sonya and I did a presentation of our Ministry in Australia. In February, we had Sheriff Doug Rader come and present current information on fraud and scams that impact our senior population. Lastly, in March, we had an amazing time celebrating Saint Patrick's Day, playing games, and putting on skits. In April, we will have the Bell Ringers from Second Baptist Church in Springfield, and in May, we will have a Hee Haw celebration. We are planning a trip to Kentucky to visit the Ark Encounter sometime in the fall. Please come and join us as we continue Touching Lives for Christ.

Music Ministry
Our Ministry of Music is going strong, being led by Lisa Davenpot, our Music Ministry Director. The children's choir is working on several songs for the MKOG Banquet in May. They are also working on rhythms and recognition of music notation (music notes, rests, etc.) while playing instruments such as rhythm sticks, bells, rain sticks, and chimes. In a few months, they will also join the adult choir to present a song of worship for the congregation. The adult choir is meeting on Wednesday evenings following Adult Bible Study with growing numbers each week. Rehearsal lasts for an hour, followed by group prayer. We are working on a couple of songs and are anticipating presenting music for the congregation regularly. The Praise Team has also gained new members, even some from our youth depaitment. Rotating vocalists and instrumentalists allows the members to share their gifts with the congregation and allows them to worship with family as well. The Youth Depmiment had previously relied on Josh Beam for worship, but is in transition. They currently have a student preparing music videos to worship with. Brandi Magness has offered to assist with this.

Student Ministry
The Student Ministry over the past couple of months has been active with the Your Worth It Conference, lock-ins, and normal Wednesday night and Sunday morning activities. Josh, Grace, and Glory made it home safely to Tennessee and are currently living with Josh's dad and mom. We thank them for their service over the past year and a half to our students. We have recently had interviews with a couple of our internal applicants for this Bi-vocation Student Director Position. These interviews were performed by our Personnel Committee, and a decision will be made soon.

Children's Ministry
What a great time we are having in our Children's Department, getting to know our new kids and finding out things we didn't know about our kids who have been coming for years. We have 71 + children who are enrolled in our M-KOG (Mighty Kids of God) Ministry that are working very hard learning and memorizing verses, Books of the Bible, Beatitude, The ABC's of leading someone to Christ, and much more. On April 29, we will be having our M-KOG Banquet so we can recognize the accomplishments of our Children. Right now we are in the process of filling thousands of eggs for our Easter Egg Hunt, April 4 at 11 :30. If the weather permits, we will be outside finding eggs and eating lots of food and a lot of candy. As of last week, Chris King shared that we have already had more than 6,000 people check out our Egg Hunt on our website. On Thursday, April 2, at 9:00, we will be filling eggs with candy, Bible verses, religious bouncy balls, mini Jesus figurines, and more. If you have time and would like to help, we would love to have you. Our Children's Choir has started up again, and we are happy to have Lisa Davenport leading our Children who will be singing for our Banquet and in some of our services. THANK YOU, LISAI!!
On May 17, we will be promoting our 6th Graders to the Youth Department. We hate to see them leave, but excited to see how they grow in their faith and how they serve the Lord.

Preschool Ministry
Director Paula Carter
Wow! Preschool has undergone a lot of changes since our move from the previous building. Starting out upstairs behind the auditorium, to our most recent move to "new digs" downstairs. Our space downstairs is beautiful, and many thanks to those involved in the construction. We are blessed to have new members of young parents seeking a loving, believing church. "God is good all the time!" We always seek new helpers (parents are drafted after having been with the church for at least two months). We will utilize volunteers during the morning worship service. Well work with you once a month, once every month, or quarterly. Please pray and search your heart if God is calling you to serve down in the preschool department. A background check is performed on each one of our preschool, children, and student ministry workers. Come visit the Preschool Department, and we would be glad to show you around.

Media Department
Over the past season, the Media Department has continued to grow in both reach and impact, not only within our church but across our community.
Growth in Digital Engagement We've seen a noticeable increase in both the consistency and volume of social media posts.
This has led to stronger engagement across all platforms and a steady rise in followers and subscriptions. Our content is reaching more people than ever, many non-members, helping extend the message beyond Sunday mornings and keeping our church family connected
throughout the week.
Expansion of Video Content We have significantly increased the use of video announcements and short-form content. These videos have helped communicate important information in a more engaging and accessible way, while also allowing us to reinforce key messages from services and events.
Investment in the Next Generation One of the most exciting developments has been working more closely with our youth. Students are becoming more involved in running various aspects of the service, gaining hands-on experience in media, production, and leadership. This not only strengthens the media team but also disciplines the next generation in practical ways.
Community Collaboration We've begun building stronger relationships with area churches, particularly through participation in a new monthly youth worship gathering that begins in April. This has created opportunities for unity across churches and expanded the reach of worship and ministry to students in our region.
Improved Communication & Consistency From sermon-based content to event promotion, we've continued to refine how we communicate. Messaging is becoming more consistent, more intentional, and more aligned with the heart and vision of FBCKC. This includes:
•More engaging social media storytelling •Clearer calls to action for events and ministries •Stronger alignment between announcements, sermons, and weekly content
Support Across Ministries
The media team continues to support multiple areas of the church, including:
•Event promotions (Easter, outreach events, ministries) •What was the Podcast development and distribution •Video and electronic-based devotionals and encouragement content •Graphics and screen content for services
Ongoing Focus
Moving forward, our focus remains on:
•Expanding digital reach even further •Continuing to develop and train volunteers, especially youth •Increasing video storytelling and testimony-based content •Strengthening partnerships with other churches and ministries •Maintaining excellence and consistency in all communication •Continued growth in spreading our message outside of our walls
